Greeneville, Tenn.----The Wingate University Bulldogs stayed perfect in SAC play this season, notching a 7-2 victory at Tusculum College in South Atlantic Conference men’s tennis action Monday afternoon. Wingate wins its fourth straight match, while also claiming its 19th consecutive regular season conference match. Tusculum falls to 8-6 overall and 2-2 in the SAC.
 
The Bulldogs swept through doubles action, starting with an 8-5 win from senior Flavio Rathsam (Sao Paulo, Brazil) and freshman Neal Towlson (Warwick, Bermuda) in number one doubles action. Seniors Drew Owen (Kitchener, Ontario) and Matt Lichtenstein (Darnestown, Md.) notched an 8-3 win in number two doubles, while an 8-6 win from freshman Diego Martinez (Queretaro, Mexico) and sophomore Ryan Forbes (Charlotte, N.C.) put Wingate on top 3-0 heading to singles action.
 
Owen’s 6-1, 6-0 win in number two singles gave the Bulldogs a 4-0 advantage. Lichtenstein clinched the victory with his 6-1, 6-2 win in number three singles. Martinez added a 7-6, 6-1 win in number four singles, while Forbes prevailed 6-4, 6-3 in number five singles.
 
The Bulldogs return to action Wednesday, hosting Catawba College at 2:30 p.m.
