Wingate, N.C.----Two Wingate University student-athletes were named to the 2012 All-Deep South Conference team, league officials announced Monday. One player received honorable mention laurels.

Bryan Bayliss (Lorton, Va.) was named to the first team, while junior attack
Derek Watts (Winston-Salem, N.C.) received second team laurels. Senior attack
David Lee (Greensboro, N.C.) was named to the honorable mention team. Bayliss is a repeat performer, as he received All-DSC second team honors in 2011.
Bayliss has 18 goals and six assists this season. He has collected 43 ground balls. On Wingate’s career charts, his 51 goals and 21 assists place him in the top 20 on both lists. Bayliss is a four-year letter winner for the Bulldogs.
Watts leads the 2012 Bulldogs in assists (24) and points (47). He is second on the Bulldog charts with his 23 goals. Lee has 24 goals to lead the Wingate offense. His 87 career goals place him sixth all-time on the Bulldog career chart. Lee is also a four-year Wingate letterman.

Taylor Thilo (Greensboro, N.C.) is the DSC Freshman of the Year. The University of Tampa head coach
Rory Whipple earns DSC Coach of the Year laurels.

Wingate’s 51 Academic All-America® honorees (lifetime) is tops among all SAC schools.
