Wingate finished the half with a 4-0 push to cut the deficit to 9-5 at intermission. Derek Watts put the exclamation point on the run with back-to-back goals separated by 37 seconds. Womble assisted on Watts’ EMO goal with 2:45 to play in the second stanza, finishing the first half scoring.
Four different Lake Erie players scored a goal to make the score 13-5 early in the third quarter. Bal concluded the run (on a Tarte assist) with 11:35 left in the third frame. Derek Watts answered with a Wingate goal five minutes later (on a Chase Watts assist), but the Bulldogs would get no closer down the stretch.
Lake Erie outshot Wingate 49-22. The Storm converted three-of-three extra-man chances. The Storm had 37 ground balls, while the Bulldogs collected 32. LEC senior midfield
