Salisbury, N.C.----The Catawba College men’s lacrosse team scored 17 goals after intermission, taking a come-from-behind 18-13 Deep South Conference tournament victory over visiting Wingate University Tuesday night at Shuford Stadium and Kirkland Field. The Catawba Indians are 7-6 overall, while the Wingate Bulldogs are 2-13 overall.

Catawba scored six unanswered goals to take its first lead five minutes into the fourth quarter. Hebert concluded the 6-0 run with an unassisted goal to make the score 11-10 Catawba. Junior attack
Steven Ridolfo (Charlotte, N.C.) posted back-to-back goals to start the flurry.
Ridolfo’s first score came in the third quarter (28.6), while his second tally started the fourth frame (13:23). Catawba senior midfield
Tom Cullop (New Windsor, Md.) assisted on Ridolfo’s second score. Eight different Indians scored second half goals, led by Hebert’s four scores.
Vogrig scored a man-up goal to tie the game 11-11 with 8:47 to play. Hebert scored the game-winner two minutes later (6:24). Hebert’s goal started a game-ending 7-2 run for the hosts. Rew and Hebert scored twice in the waning moments.
Wingate led 6-1 at halftime, thanks to back-to-back Womble goals in the final 54 seconds of the second quarter. Derek Watts assisted on both Womble tallies. Watts started Wingate’s second quarter scoring at the 2:13 mark, firing a missile into the upper corner on an assist from his brother, sophomore midfield

Chase Clifton (Lexington, N.C.) posted first quarter goals for the visitors. Clifton’s 24th goal of the season finished the first quarter scoring with 8.4 seconds remaining.
