Brevard, N.C.----Wingate University sophomore attack
Ryan Vogrig (Vancouver, B.C.) scored five goals to lead the visiting Bulldogs to a 17-4 South Atlantic Conference men's lacrosse triumph over Brevard College Saturday at the Brevard Lacrosse Field. Wingate scored 13 unanswered goals (spanning the first through third quarters) to clinch the victory.

Wingate is 5-2 overall and 1-2 in the SAC. Brevard slips to 3-5 overall and 1-2 in the SAC. The Bulldogs visit NCAA Division II number four Limestone Wednesday at 3:30 p.m. Brevard travels to SAC mountain rival Mars Hill Wednesday for a 4 p.m. contest.

Bulldog freshman attack
Austin Murphy (Orillia, Ontario) had two goals and three assists, while junior midfield
Chase Watts (Winston-Salem, N.C.) added three goals and one assist. Ten different Wingate players scored a goal Saturday. For Brevard, freshman midfield

Blackman put the Tornados on the board 85 seconds into the contest. Wingate responded in a big way, as the Bulldogs posted 13 consecutive goals. Vogrig had four of his five goals in the flurry, while Murphy and Watts posted two goals each. Murphy contributed his three assists during the push.

Watts concluded the run (on a Murphy assist) with 10:05 remaining in the third quarter. The opportunistic Bulldogs converted three-of-three EMO chances during the flurry. On the afternoon, Wingate outshot Brevard 49-26.
