Brevard, N.C.----The 34th-ranked Wingate University Bulldogs remained perfect in SAC play, notching a 7-2 victory at Brevard College in South Atlantic Conference men's tennis action Sunday afternoon. Wingate improves to 11-6 overall and 6-0 in the SAC. The Tornados fall to 0-16 overall and 0-5 in the conference.
The Bulldogs took two of three doubles matches on Sunday, starting with an 8-4 win at number one doubles from junior
Neal Towlson (Warwick, Bermuda) and sophomore
Sebastian Hall (Lörrach, Germany). An 8-0 win at number two doubles from senior
Ryan Forbes (Charlotte, N.C.) and freshman
Connor Kudrick (Spring, Texas) put the 'Dogs on top 2-1 heading to singles play.
Hall won 6-0, 6-1 at number two doubles, while freshman
Filippo Pezzoli (Milan, Italy) and Kudrick cruised to 6-0, 6-0 victories at number three and four singles, respectively. Forbes won 6-4, 6-1 at number five singles, while junior
Josh Eardley (Newcastle, England) capped the day with a 6-4, 3-6, 1-0 victory at number six singles.
The Bulldogs are back in action Monday, traveling to Mars Hill for a 1 p.m. start.
