Bulldogs sweep past Tornados to move to 4-0 in SAC play

The Wingate University Bulldogs remained perfect in SAC play, defeating visiting Brevard College 9-0 in South Atlantic Conference men's tennis action Wednesday afternoon. The Bulldogs improve to 5-3 overall and 4-0 in the SAC. Brevard falls to 4-3 overall and 0-2 in the conference.

Senior Neal Towlson (Warwick, Bermuda) teamed with junior Sebastian Hall (Lorrach, Germany) for an 8-3 win at number one doubles, while freshman Amir Zari (Jerusalem, Israel) and sophomore Connor Kudrick (Spring, Texas) won 8-6 at number two doubles. Sophomore Filippo Pezzoli (Milan, Italy) and freshman Josh DuToit (Charlotte, N.C.) cruised to an 8-1 win at number three doubles to give the 'Dogs a 3-0 lead heading to singles play.

Towlson won 6-3, 6-2 at number one singles, while Zari won 6-2, 6-3 at number two singles. Hall cruised to a 6-1, 6-0 victory at three singles. Kudrick notched a 6-1, 6-2 win at number four singles, while Pezzoli won 6-0, 6-0 at number five singles. Senior Josh Eardley (Newcastle, England) capped the day with a 6-1, 6-0 victory at number six singles.

The Bulldogs are back in action Friday, hosting West Virginia Wesleyan at 1 p.m.
