Wingate, N.C.----Wingate University freshman attack
Madison LaBarbera (Colchester, Conn.) scored the game-winner goal with 7:10 remaining, lifting the Bulldogs to a 13-12 South Atlantic Conference women's lacrosse triumph over Coker College at the Irwin Belk Track Complex turf field Saturday. Wingate is 7-4 overall and 3-2 in the SAC, while Coker is 4-5 overall and 2-2 in the SAC.

Jaclyn Chiesa (Canton, Ga.) led all scorers with seven points on the strength of six goals and one assist. Coker sophomore attack
Danielle Holcomb (Lake Mary, Fla.) led the Cobras with five points, thanks to three goals and two assists.
Wingate led 9-4 on Chiesa goal with 5:52 remaining in the first half. Coker answered with a 7-0 run spanning both halves, taking an 11-9 advantage on back-to-back goals by freshman midfield
Claudia Jenkins (Keedysville, Md.) with 19 minutes remaining in the second stanza. Jenkins was one of three Cobras to contribute two goals each to the 7-0 flurry.
Chiesa was a one-woman wrecking crew, scoring back-to-back goals of her own to tie the score 11-11 three minutes later. Wingate junior team captain
Erin Murphy (Mooresville, N.C.) scored on a Chiesa assist at the 15:57 mark, giving the Bulldogs a 12-11 edge and concluding a 3-0 mini-run.
Cobra sophomore midfield
Mackenzie Baker (Orlando, Fla.) tallied an unassisted goal to tie the score for the fourth and final time with 12:16 to go, setting the stage for LaBarbera's heroics. LaBarbera was one of three Bulldogs to score two goals each. Murphy and sophomore attack/midfield

Wingate outshot Coker 31-27, while holding a whopping 57-37 advantage in ground balls. Thanks to Chiesa's efforts, Wingate won 17 draw controls compared to 10 for Coker. The Bulldogs made 18 turnovers, while the Cobras committed 12 miscues.

Nicole Hinkle (Fallston, Md.) earned the win, giving up 12 goals and recording 13 saves in 60 minutes. Cobra freshman goalie
Kaitlyn Vela (Winter Springs, Fla.) also played 60 minutes, posting 12 saves and surrendering 13 goals.
Both teams will face NCAA Division II foes from Colorado in their next contests. Coker hosts Colorado State Pueblo Monday at 3 p.m. Wingate entertains Colorado Mesa Wednesday at 4 p.m. The Bulldogs and the Mavericks will meet for the first time in women's lacrosse Wednesday.
