Box ScoreWingate, N.C.----The 45th-ranked Wingate University Bulldogs prevailed 5-4 Friday afternoon against No. 48 Francis Marion University in NCAA Division II men's tennis action. The Bulldogs improve to 3-2 overall, while FMU falls to 3-3 on the season.
Wingate won two of three doubles matches on Wednesday. The number one doubles team of senior
Sebastian Hall (Lorrach, Germany) and junior
Connor Kudrick (Spring, Texas) won 8-4, while sophomore
Amir Zari (Jerusalem, Israel) and freshman
Duncan Addison (Halifax, Canada) won by the same score at two doubles.
Kudrick won 7-5, 7-5 at number two singles for the Bulldogs. Junior
Filippo Pezzoli (Milan, Italy) prevailed 6-3, 6-3 at three singles, while Zari picked up a 7-6, 6-0 victory at number four singles.
The Bulldogs are back in action Saturday, opening conference play at 11 a.m. against Lincoln Memorial.
