Box ScoreWingate, N.C.-----The 48th-ranked Wingate University Bulldogs rolled to a 9-0 victory over visiting Lenoir-Rhyne University in South Atlantic Conference men's tennis action Thursday afternoon. Wingate improves to 12-4 overall and 6-1 in the SAC, while the Bears fall to 4-11 overall and 1-7 in the conference.
Wingate swept through doubles play Thursday, with senior
Sebastian Hall (Lorrach, Germany) and junior
Connor Kudrick (Spring, Texas) prevailing 8-6 at number one doubles. Sophomore
Amir Zari (Jerusalem, Israel) and freshman
Duncan Addison (Halifax, Canada) rolled to an 8-1 win at two doubles, while juniors
Filippo Pezzoli (Milan, Italy) and
Tyler Schofer (Graham, N.C.) won 8-6 at number three doubles.
Hall won 6-0, 6-4 at number one singles, while Kudrick prevailed 7-5, 6-0 at two singles. Pezzoli rolled to a 6-0, 6-1 victory at three singles, while Zari prevailed 6-2, 6-2. Sophomore
Josh DuToit (Charlotte, N.C.) picked up a 6-1, 6-4 win at five singles, while Schofer capped the day with a 6-2, 6-4 victory at six singles.
The Bulldogs are back in action next Wednesday, hosting Anderson at 2 p.m.
