Box ScoreWingate, N.C.----The 48th-ranked Wingate University Bulldogs picked up four singles victories Wednesday afternoon, prevailing 5-4 against visiting Anderson University in South Atlantic Conference men's tennis action. Wingate improves to 13-4 overall and 7-1 in the SAC, while the Trojans fall to 9-5 overall and 6-2 in the conference.
Wingate's number one doubles team of senior
Sebastian Hall (Lorrach, Germany) and junior
Connor Kudrick (Spring, Texas) rolled to an 8-2 victory for the Bulldogs. The Trojans won 8-6 at number two and three doubles to take a 2-1 lead heading to singles play.
Hall cruised to a 6-0, 6-0 victory at number one singles, while Kudrick won by the same scores at number two singles to give Wingate a 3-2 advantage. Junior
Filippo Pezzoli (Milan, Italy) won 7-5, 6-0 at number three singles to put the Bulldogs on top 4-2. Anderson picked up a win at four singles to make it 4-3, but Wingate sophomore
Josh DuToit (Charlotte, N.C.) won the clincher, prevailing 6-0, 6-4 at number five singles.
