Skillman, N.J.----The Wingate University men's tennis team remains ranked number 48 in the latest release of the Oracle/Intercollegiate Tennis Association NCAA Division II top 50 poll. The Bulldog men have moved up two spots in the Southeast Region rankings. They are now sitting in eighth place in the latest regional poll.
Wingate is 12-4 overall and 6-1 in the SAC entering today's home league match versus Anderson (2 p.m. first serve). The Bulldogs are 5-0 overall at the Wingate University Tennis Facility this season. Wingate's final five matches are home contests (Anderson, Queens, Coker, Newberry and Limestone).
Wingate has won back-to-back SAC regular season and tournament titles (2015, 2014). The Bulldogs were 15-6 overall and 10-1 in the SAC last year, winning their fifth regular season conference title in seven years. Wingate went on to win the SAC Tournament championship, giving the 'Dogs two straight tournament titles and three in four years. Wingate's 2015 NCAA appearance was the sixth in program history.
