Men's Box Score | Women's Box ScoreMilledgeville, Ga.----The 10th-ranked Georgia College men's tennis team defeated No. 48 Wingate 9-0 Saturday afternoon, while the 21st-ranked Bobcats women's tennis team also won 9-0 against No. 35 Wingate. The Bulldog men fall to 7-3 overall, while the Wingate women fall to 6-4 on the season.
The Georgia College men won all three doubles matches, with Wingate's number two team of sophomore
Amir Zari (Jerusalem, Israel) and freshman
Duncan Addison (Halifax, Canada) dropping an 8-5 match. Senior
Sebastian Hall (Lorrach, Germany) and sophomore
Josh DuToit (Charlotte, N.C.) fell 8-3 at one doubles, while juniors
Tyler Schofer (Graham, N.C.) and
Filippo Pezzoli (Milan, Italy) lost by the same score at three doubles.
Schofer picked won the second set at number five singles to force a tiebreaker, but fell 10-3 in the tiebreaker.
Georgia College swept through doubles play in women's action, with Wingate's number three team of juniors
Sierra Parsons (Toronto, Ontario) and
Layla Tanik (Raleigh, N.C.) dropping an 8-6 decision. Sophomores
Oroma Womeodu (Memphis, Tenn.) and
Maria Garcia (San Carlos, Venezuela) lost 8-1 at one doubles, while freshmen
Claudia De Andreis (Milan, Italy) and
Sydney Homan (Huntsville, Ala.) lost 8-3 at two doubles.
At number five singles, Tanik dropped the first set 6-4, while falling 7-6 in set two for the Bulldogs.
The Wingate men are back in action Monday, hosting Radford at 10 a.m. Both teams travel to Bluefield State Wednesday at 1 p.m.
