#42 Bulldogs pick up 5-2 victory at NCAA Division I Radford

Radford, Va.----For the second straight year, the Wingate University Bulldogs prevailed over NCAA Division I foe Radford, prevailing 5-2 in NCAA men's tennis action Friday afternoon. The Bulldogs improve to 10-3 on the year, while the Highlanders fall to 1-10 overall.

Wingate picked up two wins in doubles play to earn the point, playing by NCAA Division I rules. Junior Josh DuToit (Charlotte, N.C.) and freshman Daniel Belsito (Charlotte, N.C.) won 6-1 at number one doubles, while senior Tyler Schofer (Graham, N.C.) teamed with junior Amir Zari (Jerusalem, Israel) for a 6-3 victory at number two doubles to give the 'Dogs a 1-0 lead heading to singles play.

Senior Filippo Pezzoli (Milan, Italy) won 6-4, 0-6, 6-2 at number one singles, while Belsito prevailed 6-0, 6-7, 7-5 at two singles. Freshman Theo Dessacs (Toulouse, France) won 6-1, 6-4 at number three singles, while freshman Tamir Geva (Jerusalem, Israel) won 7-5, 4-6, 7-5 at number six singles for the Bulldogs.

Wingate is back in action Sunday, hosting Bluefield State at 2 p.m.
