Augusta, Ga.----The Wingate University Bulldogs picked up their second victory over a top-50 team this season, prevailing 7-2 at No. 47 Augusta University Wednesday afternoon in NCAA Division II men's tennis action. Wingate improves to 8-2 overall and 8-1 against Division II opposition, while the Jaguars fall to 5-6 on the season.

Wingate swept through doubles play to take a 3-0 lead. The number one doubles team of sophomore Josh DuToit (Charlotte, N.C.) and freshman Daniel Belsito (Charlotte, N.C.) rolled to an 8-1 victory, while senior Tyler Schofer (Graham, N.C.) and junior Amir Zari (Jerusalem, Israel) prevailed 8-6 at two doubles. Sophomore Duncan Addison (Halifax, Canada) and freshman Theo Dessacs (Toulouse, France) won 9-7 to put the 'Dogs up 3-0 heading to singles play.

Belsito won 6-2, 6-3 at number two singles, while Dessacs won 7-5, 6-3 at three singles. DuToit prevailed 6-1, 7-5 at number four singles, while Zari added a 6-2, 7-5 victory at five singles.

Wingate is back in action next Friday, returning to conference play to host Carson-Newman at 2 p.m.
