Rock Hill, S.C.----The top-seeded Queens University Royals went 2-1 in doubles play Saturday morning, then picked up three victories in singles play to prevail 5-3 over second-seeded and 42nd-ranked Wingate University in the 2017 South Atlantic Conference men's tennis championship match. Queens improves to 16-1 on the season, while the Bulldogs fall to 17-5 overall.

Daniel Belsito (Charlotte, N.C.) prevailed 8-5 at number one doubles, but the Royals won at two and three doubles to take a 2-1 lead to singles play.

Theo Dessacs (Toulouse, France) won 6-2, 6-2 at three singles to tie the match, but Queens won at four singles to go on top 3-2. Belsito's 6-4, 6-2 victory at number two singles tied it 3-3, but the Royals regained the advantage with a victory at one singles. A three-set win at six singles clinched the match for Queens. Amir Zari (Jerusalem, Israel) was leading in the third set at five singles when the Royals clinched the match.
