Wingate, N.C.----The Wingate University Bulldogs shot a season-low 31 percent from the field and committed a season-high 21 turnovers Tuesday night, falling 49-45 against visiting Coker University in South Atlantic Conference men's basketball action in Cuddy Arena. The Cobras improve to 2-2 overall and 1-0 in the SAC, while the 'Dogs fall to 4-3 overall and 0-2 in league play.

- Wingate shot 31 percent from the field and connected on six-of-15 triples (40 percent)

FIRST HALF
- Both teams shot 30 percent in the opening half

Quantra Taylor layup gave Wingate a 14-6 lead midway through the half
- Cottingham knocked down a three to make it 18-9 with 7:19 remaining
- KJ Harris knocked down a triple to get Coker within two with three minutes to go
- Alston's three gave the Bulldogs a 23-19 halftime lead
SECOND HALF
- Wingate used a 10-1 run to take a 39-32 lead late in the second half
- The 'Dogs held the Cobras without a field goal for nearly four minutes

Donell Nixon's three put the Bulldogs on top while Sio's layup capped it at the 6:33 mark
- The Cobras scored the next 13 points, holding Wingate scoreless the next three minutes
- Noel Pinnock's bucket at the 2:23 mark gave Coker a 45-39 advantage
- Two Johnson free throws and a Pringle layup got WU within two with 43 seconds left
- Cottingham knocked down a pair of free throws with 19 seconds remaining to tie it at 45
- Coker answered, getting a Royce Hunter jumper with three seconds left to go back on top
