Salisbury, N.C.----The Wingate University Bulldogs erased a 16-point second-half deficit to take a late lead, but Catawba responded with a run of its own en route to a 84-75 victory in South Atlantic Conference men's basketball action Wednesday night. The Indians improve to 16-5 overall and 9-4 in the SAC, while the Bulldogs see their three-game winning streak come to an end, falling to 13-9 overall and 9-5 in league play.

- Threes from Logan and Dawkins gave WU a 14-11 advantage at the 11:55 mark
- A Hovasse triple gave the 'Dogs a 17-13 advantage at the midway point
- Catawba scored the next seven, taking a 20-17 lead on a Jeremy McLaughlin bucket at the 8:49 mark

- A McLaughlin dunk put the Indians on top by seven with five minutes to go
- A Three and a layup from Haskins got the Bulldogs within two
- Back-to-back buckets from Jameel Taylor gave Catawba a 38-28 advantage at the 1:57 mark
- A Johnson three and Haskins free throw got WU within four at 38-34 heading to halftime

SECOND HALF

- A Devin Cooper three at the 15-minute mark gave the Indians a 56-40 advantage
- Two Logan layups got the 'Dogs within 11 at the 11:47 mark
- A Daquan Lilly triple made it 63-47 with 11 minutes to go
- Wingate answered with an emphatic 19-2 run to take the lead
- A Dawkins layup and back-to-back Haskins threes got Wingate within six, while two more Logan buckets made it a two-point game
- Taylor's three-point play at the 5:27 mark gave the Bulldogs a one-point advantage
- Catawba closed the game on a 19-9 run
- A Jordan McElveen dunk with 3:29 to go put Catawba on top for good
- A Cooper bucket and Marcell Haskett three gave the Indians a nine-point lead with a minute to go
- Wingate got no closer than six the rest of the way
