Wingate, N.C.----For the first time this season, the 19th-ranked Wingate University Bulldogs lost the doubles point Wednesday afternoon, but responded in impressive fashion by going 6-0 in singles play en route to a 6-1 victory over No. 15 Queens University in South Atlantic Conference women's tennis action. Wingate improves to 10-0 overall and 4-0 in the SAC, extending their SAC winning streak to 73 matches. The Royals fall to 7-2 overall and 3-1 in league play

DOUBLES
- Wingate's number two doubles team of
Claudia De Andreis and
Chyi Lee won 6-2 at one doubles
- Queens picked up a 6-4 victory over
Michela Verpelli and
Alisa Rudenko at one singles

Camilla Ciaccia dropped a 6-3 decision at three doubles
- Queens took a 1-0 lead into singles play
- It is the first time all season the 'Dogs have lost the doubles point
SINGLES
- Ciaccia tied the match by winning 6-3, 6-4 at number six singles
- Verpelli prevailed 7-5, 6-4 at one singles to put Wingate on top, defeating the 32nd-ranked player in the country
- Rudenko rallied for a 2-6, 6-3, 6-3 victory at number two singles to make it 3-1
- Lee won the clincher at number four singles
- The sophomore rallied for a 5-7, 6-3, 6-4 victory at four singles to make it 4-1

Riann Hsu prevailed 4-6, 6-4, 1-0 at number three singles
- De Andreis capped the day with a 6-3, 7-5 victory at number five singles
