Men's Under Consideration Team (Listed Alphabetically)
Women's Under Consideration Teams (Listed Alphabetically)

Indianapolis, Ind.----The NCAA released the first list of teams under consideration for Division II Men's and Women's Soccer, and both Wingate University teams are listed in the rankings, with the men checking in in the Super Region 2 rankings and the women in the Southeast Region rankings.

The committees ranked 12 teams on the men's side and 10 on the women's side. The teams currently under consideration were not put in any rank order at this time. The teams will not be put in a rank order until later this week. The rankings are the official poll utilized by the NCAA in the championship selection process and will continue to be released each week by the NCAA Division II Men's Soccer Committee up to the NCAA Championship selections.

The Bulldog men have been hot down the stretch, piling up seven straight wins, the fourth-longest streak in the nation. The streak improves impressive road wins at Lenoir-Rhyne, Limestone, Lincoln Memorial and Chowan, while also picking up home victories over Mars Hill, Shaw and Tusculum. The 'Dogs are riding an eight-game unbeaten streak, with the last loss coming Sept. 21.

The Wingate men lead the SAC with a 0.69 goals-against average, allowing just 11 goals through 16 games. The 'Dogs have notched six shutouts on the season. Wingate has given up just five goals in 10 league contests, posting a conference-best 0.50 goals-against average in SAC games.

The defenders have also gotten it done on the offensive end, with Owen Marshall tied for the team lead with five goals and Niclas Wittur adding four goals. Emil Svenander also has five goals, adding an assist for a team-best 11 points. Mattis Westberg has two goals and two assists, while Mattia Ditommaso has a goal and a team-best three assists. Aleksa Janjic has five shutouts on the year, leading the SAC with a 0.73 goals-against average and a .804 save percentage.

The Bulldog women are 8-3-4 overall and 3-3-4 in the SAC. Wingate has posted a 0.67 goals-against average on the year, good for third in the SAC, allowing just 10 goals in 15 contests. The 'Dogs have a pair of impressive road results this year, notching ties at Catawba and Lenoir-Rhyne, two teams tied for first place in the league standings and are both without a league loss.

The Wingate women are also led by a defender on offense, with Sascha Larsen netting five goals including three game-winning goals. Caroline Peters has two goals and a team-best six assists, while Alicia Rubio Garcia has four goals and an assist. Brianna Ditillo has added a goal and four assists on the year. Katrine Thisgaard has started every game, posting a 0.67 goals-against average with eight shutouts.

Both teams wrap up the regular season Wednesday night at Coker. The Bulldog men can clinch an outright regular season title with a victory at Coker, while a tie would guarantee at least a share of a title. The Bulldogs have locked up a SAC tournament bid and with a win could jump up a spot in the seedings. The SAC Tournament gets underway this weekend, with the higher seed hosting quarterfinal action. The Wingate men have already guaranteed a first-round home game, which will be Saturday at Pride Park at 4 p.m.

The next round of region rankings will come out Wednesday afternoon. The NCAA Tournament fields will be announced Nov. 7 on ncaa.com. The regionals will take place Nov. 10-13, with the third round and national quarterfinals Nov. 17-20. The Final Four and national title game will be part of the Fall Festival in Seattle, Wash. on Dec. 1 and 3.
