Daytona Beach, Fla.----The Upper Iowa University Peacocks knocked down 15 threes on 50 percent shooting Friday night, prevailing 91-84 over Wingate University in NCAA Division II men's basketball action. Upper Iowa improves to 3-3 overall, while the Bulldogs fall to 2-2 on the season.

FIRST HALF

- A Max Duax three gave Upper Iowa a 10-2 lead just over three minutes in
- A Nixon three and Massey layup cut the lead to three a minute later
- A pair of Duax free throws put the Peacocks on top 20-10 at the 12:52 mark
- Another Nixon triple cut the lead to seven, but an Austin Hilmer three made it 26-13
- Wingate went on a 9-0 run to pull within three, getting five points from Clark in the flurry
- A Caleb Delzell triple gave the Peacocks a 37-25 advantage with 2:30 remaining
- A dunk and a layup from Ahman Greenidge, along with a Nixon three cut the lead to five
- Hilmer buried a three at the buzzer to give Upper Iowa a 42-34 halftime lead

SECOND HALF

- The Bulldogs scored the first eight points of the second half to tie it at 42
- Cottingham, Nixon, Massey and Vontrez Roberts each had a bucket in the two-minute spurt
- Hilmer's jumper put the Peacocks back on top by four at the 17:07 mark
- Buckets from Clark and Letino, followed by Cottingham's layup gave WU a 50-49 lead with 15 minutes left
- Upper Iowa scored the next eight, taking a 57-50 lead on a Delzell three
- Cottingham pulled the 'Dogs back within three with 13 minutes remaining
- Back-to-back triples from Delzell pushed the lead back to nine a minute later
- A Cottingham bucket and two Wilson free throws pulled the 'Dogs within four at 67-63
- Three Elmore free throws made it a three-point game with seven minutes to go
- Nick Reid buried a three with 4:48 remaining to put the Peacocks on top 77-69
- Massey's three-point play cut the lead to five, but a Hilmer triple with 1:25 left put Upper Iowa up by nine
- A Wilson three and Cottingham layup made it a four-point game with 30 seconds left
- Upper Iowa made three free throws down the stretch to secure the win
