What They Are Saying

Wingate senior Abby Heath on the team's Saturday performance:

I was super pleased to see all my teammates put in the hard work today. The energy at the meet was really good and everyone was cheering for each other…like we do best. I am so proud of my teammates who will continue on to nationals in a couple of weeks and I can't wait to see what they're able to do there. I know they will be great.

Heath on her performance:

I was super nervous going into today because I had never competed at a last chance meet, so I didn't know what to expect. There were a lot of good athletes competing and trying to qualify for nationals, so I knew it would be a tough competition. I ran a PR in an event that I've only been doing for about two months. Overall, I am happy with how this season went, but I am looking forward to coming back next year as a graduate student and contributing what I can for my team.

Wingate graduate student Tucker Mullis on the team's Saturday performance:

Today was a great meet for the Bulldogs. Being the last meet of the season, everyone gave excellent effort and performed exceptionally well. I'm happy to say that we have multiple Bulldogs who will be competing at nationals.

Mullis on his performance:

This has been a long outdoor season. I have been chasing a big throw all year and after countless of hours in the weight room and at practice, we finally hit it today. I'm very grateful to end the season with a PR and I'm looking forward to a long summer of training. I have to thank Dakota Brovero for his help and guidance in the weight room, Billy Edwards for being an amazing coach and my teammates for cheering me on.
