What They Are Saying

Wingate head men's golf coach JD Lamm

"I believe we are definitely headed in the right direction. We had a solid finish…and I saw many good things on the course this week. We had four players shoot an under-par round, so this is a sign we are getting better. I am looking forward to how we perform the rest of the fall."

Wingate sophomore student-athlete Colin Dutton

"The team showed a lot of potential in the last few days. We proved that any guy from top to bottom can go out there and post a good number. We obviously were hoping to bring back some hardware to Wingate, but we did well overall. We have a lot of positives to build on…and we are going to continue to work hard to prepare for Irish Creek."

"I was proud of myself for playing well the first day and having a chance to win individually. I was somewhat upset with my third-round score, but I learned a lot from it. We will be back bigger and better for our next tournament."

The Jay Jennison Cup

The Jay Jennison Cup is named in honor of previous Flagler men's golf coach Jay Jennison, who passed away July 9, 2010 after a courageous battle with cancer. He was the head coach for the Saints in 2007-08 and for the fall 2008 campaign. Jennison was the 17th recipient of the J. Edward "Red" Cox Award, which is given to a person who has made a positive impact in athletics on the St. Augustine community.
