Pensacola, Fla.----The No. 5 Wingate University men's golf team is fourth after the first round of the Argonaut Invitational, hosted by the defending national champion University of West Florida at Pensacola Country Club. The Bulldogs shot an opening round two-under-par 286. No. 4 Florida Southern leads after the first round, thanks to a 10-under-par 278. Darkness halted play before the second round could be completed.

Mattia D'Errico shot a three-under-par 69 in the first round to lead the South Atlantic Conference members. The 15 teams and 87 student-athletes have a handful of holes remaining to finish the second round; the competitors will move directly to the third round. Play begins at 9 a.m. EDT Tuesday morning.
