Bulldogs drop 4-3 overtime heartbreaker at Converse

Spartanburg, S.C.----The Wingate University Bulldogs scored in the final two minutes of regulation to force overtime at Converse University, but the Valkyries scored eight minutes into overtime to prevail 4-3 in South Atlantic Conference field hockey action Saturday afternoon. Converse improves to 6-7 overall and 4-6 in the SAC, while the Bulldogs fall to 3-10 overall and 3-8 in league play.

- Novy Schrijvers scored a pair of goals to lead the Wingate attack

- Schrijvers scored her second goal of the day off a Proulx assist to make it 2-1
- Caroline Blair scored six minutes later for the Valkyries to tie it at two
- Pistaccio scored with five minutes remaining to give Converse a 3-2 advantage
- Wingate had the answer, tying it with 1:37 left in regulation
- Montgomery scored the goal that made it 3-3 and sent it to overtime

OVERTIME

- Brooklyn Widdess scored eight minutes into overtime off a Nina Buyst assist to end it
