Wingate, N.C.----Josh Massey and
Kendall Taylor combined for 47 points and 14 rebounds Sunday afternoon, as the Wingate University Bulldogs took down #23 Lincoln Memorial University 76-73 in South Atlantic Conference men's basketball action in Cuddy Arena. Wingate improves to 5-3 overall and 2-0 in the SAC, while the Railsplitters fall to 6-3 overall and 1-1 in league play.

Taylor Bell's layup gave Wingate an early 8-4 lead
- Chase Rankin gave LMU a 13-12 advantage with a triple at the 16:19 mark
- Taylor's three-point play put the 'Dogs back on top by two a minute later
- A pair of Matthew Sells free throws put LMU back on top by four with 13 minutes left
- Wingate used a 16-5 run to take a 39-31 advantage at the 4:27 mark
- Taylor had eight points in the flurry, with Massey adding four points
- Rankin's layup with 57 seconds left cut the lead to four
- Massey answered with a bucket to put WU back on top by six
- A Martez Brown layup with 11 seconds left cut the halftime lead to four at 42-38
SECOND HALF
- Rankin's layup five minutes in gave LMU a 47-46 lead

- A Luke Bartemes triple at the 5:24 mark gave LMU a 62-60 advantage
- Taylor answered with a three to put WU back on top, but another Rankin three made it 65-63
- Nixon answered with a steal and three-point play to give the Bulldogs a 66-65 lead with 3:44 left
- Massey knocked down huge back-to-back triples to make it 72-67 with just under a minute left
- Two Nixon free throws made it 74-66 with 37 seconds to go
- LMU got no closer than three the rest of the way
