Newberry, S.C.----The Newberry College Wolves prevailed 91-82 Wednesday night in South Atlantic Conference men's basketball action. Newberry improves to 18-9 overall and 11-6 in the SAC, while the Bulldogs fall to 15-11 overall and 10-7 in league play.

- Clark's layup gave Wingate an early 8-7 lead
- A Malakah Stremlow bucket at the 13:26 mark put Newberry on top by four
- A Cottingham jumper and Elmore three tied it at 18
- Stremlow's jumper at the 7:27 mark capped a 7-0 NC run, making it 25-18
- Newberry used a 13-0 run to go on top by 18 on a Drake Downs bucket with 2:20 to go
- A Nixon triple and three Wilson free throws pulled the 'Dogs within 14 at halftime
SECOND HALF
- Massey's triple four minutes in cut the lead to nine
- Andrew Robinson's three gave the Wolves a 49-37 advantage at the 14:41 mark
- Massey scored five straight points to pull Wingate within six
- Robins's three gave Newberry a 55-44 lead at the 12:24 mark
- Caleb Byrd's dunk stretched the lead to 14
- Threes from Massey and Elmore cut the lead to eight at the midway point
- TJ Brown's dunk with 7:53 to go gave Newberry a 70-56 advantage
- WU scored the next eight, getting five points from Wilson to make it 70-67
- Another Wilson triple and Cottingham layup made it a two-point game with five minutes left
- Malik Joseph's jumper and two Byrd free throws extended the lead to six
- Massey's layup and Cottingham's free throw cut the lead back to four with two minutes left
- Newberry made five straight free throws in a 45-second span to go on top 86-77
- Cottingham buried a three to pull the 'Dogs back within six with 37 seconds left
- Wingate would get no closer the rest of the way
