Complete CTCA release

Colorado Springs, Colo.----The Wingate University women's triathlon team and three of its student-athletes were recognized by the Collegiate Triathlon Coaches Association (CTCA), which has announced its academic awards for the 2022 season.

The Bulldogs earned CTCA Scholar All-American team status, while Pamela Hernandez Quevedo and Jule Resselberger were named Division II Scholar All-Americans. Tamar Veltman was recognized with Scholar All-American honorable mention distinction.

As a team, the Bulldogs posted a 3.489 GPA in the fall 2022 semester, well above the 3.2 or higher requirement to receive the team honor. Four student-athletes recorded individual 4.00 GPAs for the fall semester.

To qualify for the CTCA individual awards, student-athletes must have had a 3.5 or higher GPA during the semester. To receive the first team recognition, student-athletes must have also finished among the top 20 at the national championships. Honorable mention status was given to others who competed at the national championships, but finished outside the top 20.

What They Are Saying
Wingate women's triathlon head coach Nick Radkewich

"As the program grows, we have continued to attract amazing student-athletes to Wingate. I am always impressed by the efforts our women's team makes to fit in training for three endurance sports and perform in the classroom."

"I was exceptionally proud of our four team members who posted 4.00 GPAs during the fall semester: Maddie Gagnon, McKenzie Klinck, Jule Resselberger and Linn Suchomel. It is one of our goals every season to earn All-Scholar Team recognition…so far, they have accomplished this our first two years as a program. Congratulations to all our Bulldogs!"

Looking back at 2022
