Wingate’s Heath leads Bulldogs on day two of Raleigh Relays

Raleigh, N.C.----Wingate University graduate student Abby Heath posted the fastest 400 meters time in the South Atlantic Conference this season on the day two of the Raleigh Relays Friday. The Raleigh Relays is hosted by North Carolina State University inside the Paul Derr Track and Field Facility.
 
Heath ran a personal-best time of 57.47 on the NCSU Wolfpack track, easing past Anderson (S.C.) University sophomore Lacey Boozer and her time of 57.73 recorded at the Trojan Opener March 17. Heath moves from No. 10 to No. 4 on Wingate's 400 meters career top 10.
 
Wingate men's highlights
 
- Elijah Compton was the top NCAA Division II finisher in the 110 meter hurdles
- His time of 14.82 is only a shade above his WU school-record of 14.55
- Compton's Raleigh Relays effort is the No. 2 time in the SAC this season
- Christian Sturrup made his first outdoor appearance as a Bulldog Friday
- His high jump mark of 1.96 meters is the fourth-best leap in the SAC this year
- Sturrup vaults to No. 4 on Wingate's high jump top 10

- Abby Heath posted a 57.47 PR in the 400 meters
- Her time is the top mark in the South Atlantic Conference this season

- Zoe Brickley ran a 4:40.45 PR in the 1500 meters
- Her Friday effort is the second-best time in the SAC this year
- Brickley remains No. 5 on the Bulldog 1500 meters top 10
