Lenoir City, Tenn.----The Wingate University men's golf team finished 16th in the State Farm Tennessee River Rumble Monday. Bulldog junior Nick Fleming tied for 17th place, thanks to his 54-hole total of one-under-par 215. The University of North Georgia swept the team and individual titles. South Atlantic Conference member Lincoln Memorial University hosts this annual event at WindRiver Golf Course.

- Fleming had Wingate's low second and third round
- The West Virginia native posted a one-under-par 71 in round two
- He followed with a two-under-par 70 in the third and final round Tuesday
- Four of WU's five golfers had their low River Rumble round in the final session
- Freshman Filippo Grossi had a one-under-par 71 Tuesday
- Junior Will Hunsucker had an even-par 72 Tuesday
- Freshman Oscar Land went lower each round, finishing with a 76
- Wingate played the par threes at plus-eight (3.13), tied for fifth on the stat charts
- North Georgia junior Evan Thompson earned medalist honors
- Thompson finished at 10-under-par 206, one stroke ahead of Lander's Linus Jonsson
- The UNG NightHawks won the team crown as well with an 18-under-par 846
- Lee (Tenn.) was second at 12-under-par 852
- Clayton State (856), Carson-Newman (859) and host LMU (861) round out the top five
- The State Farm Tennessee River Rumble concludes the regular season for the 'Dogs
- Wingate will compete in the South Atlantic Conference tournament April 16-18
- The 54-hole event will be held at the Lake Hickory Country Club in Hickory
