Greenwood, S.C.----Wingate University junior Nick Fleming shot a Tuesday-low round of six-under-par 66, rallying to force a medalist playoff in the Bearcat Golf Classic on the Greenwood Country Club layout Tuesday. Fleming and Lander junior Linus Jonsson finished 54 holes at nine-under-par 207. Jonsson birdied the first playoff hole (No. 18) to defend home turf and earn medalist honors.
 
Fleming moved eight rungs up the individual leader board after starting the final round tied for 10th place. Wingate posted a Tuesday-low (tying) round of 286 to finish tied for fifth place in the 19-team field. Anderson (S.C.) University, the No. 1 squad in NCAA Division II, won the team title by four strokes over host Lander (849-853).

- Fleming's third-round 66 is a career-low 18 holes for the Wingate junior
- His previous best was a second-round 68 at Barton's Spring Bulldog Clash (Feb. 27, 2023)
- Fleming played the par fives at eight-under-par (4.33), tied for first on the tourney charts
- His 15 birdies were tied for second on the Bearcat Golf Classic stat ledger
- Junior Will Hunsucker had 46 pars, tops on the individual list
- Clayton State finished third at 858, nine strokes behind Anderson and five shy of Lander
