Sumter, S.C.----The top-seeded and 15th-ranked Wingate University Bulldogs rolled to a 4-0 victory over eighth-seeded Newberry College in the opening round of the South Atlantic Conference men's tennis tournament Thursday afternoon. Wingate improves to 18-2 overall, advancing to Friday's SAC Tournament semifinals. The Wolves fall to 8-12 on the season.

DOUBLES

- Luka Brown teamed with Hugo Nossler for a 6-2 win at two doubles
- Florian Walcher and Federico Spinetta prevailed 6-3 at three doubles
- Gabriel Constantino and Edis Nokic led 4-3 at one doubles when the point was clinched
- The Bulldogs took a 1-0 lead into singles play

SINGLES

- Walcher won 6-3, 6-4 at one singles over the SAC Player of the Year
- Nossler rolled to a 6-1, 6-2 victory at four singles
- Jonas Grasmueck cruised to a 6-0, 6-1 win at six singles
- Constantino was up a set at two singles, taking set one 6-3
- Nokic won the first set 6-4 at three singles
- Brown lost set one but took the second set 6-2 at five singles
