Wingate, N.C.----Due to inclement weather Thursday afternoon, the South Atlantic Conference softball tournament opening-round contest between Wingate and Anderson has been postponed. The contest, originally scheduled for Thursday at 3 p.m., will now take place Friday at 10 a.m. The winner of that contest will play at 12:30 p.m. on Friday. The loser of game one Friday will face Newberry Friday at 3 p.m.

There were scheduled to be two games played on Thursday at Wingate, with game one between Newberry and Carson-Newman starting at 1 p.m. A two-hour rain delay, along with extra innings had the contest at 6 p.m. The Bulldogs and Trojans were not able to get their game started Thursday evening.  

The winner of Friday morning's Wingate-Anderson game will take on Carson-Newman at 12:30 p.m. The loser will take on Newberry at 3 p.m. The three-day, double-elimination tournament is slated to conclude Saturday. Every game will take place at the Wingate Softball Complex.
