Cleveland, Tenn.----Both Wingate University track and field teams finished third in the Flames Invitational presented by Jones Properties Saturday. Twenty-eight women's teams and 27 men's teams scored points in this year's event, hosted by Lee University inside the Ray Conn Sports Complex.
Lee swept both team titles to defend its home turf. On the men's side, the Flames had 102.5 points. Alabama-Huntsville (80) and Wingate (76.5) claimed second and third, respectively. The Lee women outdistanced second-place Belmont (Tenn.) 142-126 to claim the team trophy. Wingate was third with 62 points.

McKenzie Connor set a new school record in the 100 meter hurdles (14.72)
- Connor's Saturday time is the second-fastest mark in the SAC this season
- Both Connor (fourth) and
Hoyane Esper (15th) finished in the 100 meter hurdles top 15
- Esper's time of 15.99 moves her into the WU career 100 meter hurdles top 10 at No. 8

Meg Rapley finished third in the 3000 meter steeplechase (11:08.43)
- Rapley's Saturday effort is the fastest time in the SAC this season

Doriane Langlois posted a time of 11:37.31 in the 3000 meter steeplechase
- Langlois' mark is the third-fastest in the SAC this year and moves her into the WU top five
- Rapley (2:18.71) and
Zoe Brickley (2:19.95) competed in the 800 meters
- Rapley is the WU school-record holder in both the 800 meters and the 3000 meter steeplechase
- Brickley's Saturday 800 meters time moves her to No. 6 on WU's career top 10 list

Wingate University
