Wingate, N.C.----The Wingate University Bulldogs pulled off another impressive victory Saturday evening in Cuddy Arena, erasing a 19-point deficit and getting a go-ahead three from
Donell Nixon with two seconds left to prevail 84-83 over Carson-Newman University in South Atlantic Conference men's basketball action. Wingate pushes its winning streak to 10, moving to 14-3 overall and 9-0 in the SAC. The Eagles fall to 13-4 overall and 6-3 in league play. The 'Dogs continue with their best SAC start in program history, while the 10-game winning streak is the longest since an 11-game streak in the 2016-17 season.

- A Trey Hubbard triple capped a 9-0 spurt that put the Eagles on top 19-10
- Taylor's layup cut the lead to seven at the 12:31 mark
- Carson-Newman scored the next nine, taking a 30-14 lead on a Zhao triple with 10:31 left
- Hubbard's layup with 9:10 remaining put the Eagles on top by 19
- Wingate scored the next eight, with four different Bulldogs notching buckets to make it 35-24
- A Roberts three-point play and Massey layup pulled the 'Dogs within nine with 2:38 to go
