NCAA individual champion Larrabeiti leads five Bulldogs on CTCA All-American teams

Wingate, N.C.----Wingate University women's triathlon senior team captain Carla Larrabeiti is one of five Bulldogs honored as All-Americans this week by the Collegiate Triathlon Coaches Association (CTCA). The 2024 individual national champion, Larrabeiti is one of three Wingate student-athletes on the first team.
 
Wingate won its first-ever NCAA Division II team title in the USA Triathlon Collegiate National Championships Saturday, November 9. The four-year-old Wingate program finished second, third and second in its previous national championship appearances.
 
Sophomore Grace Nolan and senior Pamela Hernandez Quevedo joined Larrabeiti on the All-American first team. Freshman Paula Auschill was named to the second team, while classmate Irmak Şereflioğlu received honorable mention All-American laurels. Auschill was named the NCAA Division II Freshman of the Year by the CTCA.
 
In October, Wingate's fabulous five received All-East Region honors as the Bulldogs won their third consecutive regional championship title. Şereflioğlu was the East Region Freshman of the Year. Larrabeiti, Auschill, Hernandez Quevedo and Nolan joined Şereflioğlu on the All-East Region team.
