Taylor’s triple-double leads Wingate to 107-90 victory over Mount Olive

Wingate, N.C.----Wingate University senior guard Kendall Taylor notched his first career triple-double Tuesday afternoon, leading the Bulldogs to a dominant 107-90 victory over the visiting University of Mount Olive Trojans in NCAA Division II men's basketball action in Cuddy Arena. Wingate moves to 5-5 on the season, while the Trojans fall to 5-8 overall.

KEY STATS

- Wingate shot 61 percent from the field, going eight-for-19 from three-point range (42 percent)
- Mount Olive shot 45 percent from the field, connecting on 10-of-22 from deep (45 percent)
- The Bulldogs held a 39-30 rebounding advantage with a 14-10 edge in second-chance points

FIRST HALF

- Jumpers from Hall and Taylor gave Wingate a 12-7 lead seven minutes in

- The 'Dogs answered with a 14-0 run to take a 26-9 lead at the 9:19 mark
- Foor had six points in the spurt, with Taylor and Grant adding four points each
- Taylor's jumper a minute later put the 'Dogs on top by 19
- A Pack triple and Hall dunk gave Wingate a 39-17 advantage with 6:09 to go

SECOND HALF

- Hall and Taylor had four points apiece in an 8-0 run to give the 'Dogs a 61-38 lead
- The Bulldogs added a 9-0 run to push the lead to 84-55 at the 9:13 mark
- Bradley had five points in the spurt; Taylor's three gave WU its largest lead of the day
- Wingate hit the century mark for the second time this season on Foor's layup with 3:52 to go
- The Bulldog lead did not go below 17 over the final 18 minutes of the game
