Bulldogs ride huge fourth quarter to 4-1 victory at Coker in season opener

Hartsville, S.C.----The Wingate University Bulldogs scored three times in the final frame Tuesday evening en route to a 4-1 at Coker University in South Atlantic Conference field hockey action. The Bulldogs move to 1-0 overall and 1-0 in the SAC, while the Cobras fall to 0-2 overall and 0-2 in league play.

- The Bulldogs held a 9-4 advantage in shots on goal
- The 'Dogs took 11 of the 18 penalty corners on the night

- The 'Dogs got on the board six minutes into the second half to tie it
- Proulx netted the equalizer off an assist from George, making it 1-1

FOURTH QUARTER

- Wingate took the lead in the opening minute of the final period
- It was Muller scoring her first Bulldog goal off a Cordrey assist to make it 2-1
- Cordrey gave the 'Dogs a two-goal lead with her first goal of the year with six minutes left
- Szymborski capped the scoring with just over three minutes remaining, making the final margin 4-1
