Elihu Lipscomb has been named the WePlayed Sports South Atlantic Conference football Defensive Player of the Week, league officials announced Monday afternoon. Lipscomb earns Player of the Week accolades for the first time in his career.
Lipscomb helped lead the Bulldogs to a dominant 30-3 victory at Anderson Saturday afternoon. The Bulldogs moved to 6-2 overall and 4-2 in the SAC with the victory, pushing the winning streak to three.
Lipscomb led a defensive effort that held Anderson to just 171 total yards and three points on Saturday. Lipscomb piled up seven tackles on the day. His day included 2.5 tackles for loss with a pair of sacks.
Lipscomb has registered 23 tackles on the season, with 6.0 tackles for loss and four sacks. He also has a pair of pass break-ups and two forced fumbles, along with two QB hurries.
The Bulldogs are back in action Saturday, returning home to host Lenoir-Rhyne at 3 p.m.
