Wingate, N.C.----The No. 2 Wingate University women's golf team adds the state of Georgia to its 2025-26 travelogue for this week's event, venturing to St. Simons Island for the St. Simons Intercollegiate. Hosted by fellow South Atlantic Conference member Lincoln Memorial University, the 54-hole event takes place Sunday, Monday and Tuesday at

Tournament organizers made a weather-related change to the St. Simons Intercollegiate schedule Saturday, moving round one from Monday to Sunday. The second round is Monday, while the third and final round is Tuesday. The Bulldogs look to continue their winning ways, as Wingate has won two tournaments in two tries to start the new season.

Two tournaments, two victories to start the 2025-26 season

No. 2 Wingate has won two tournaments in two tries to start the new season. The Bulldogs won the Eckerd College Invitational by 11 strokes September 22-23. Wingate shot a two-over-par 290 in the final round, completing 54 holes at 877. Second-place Flagler finished at 888. Sophomore
Amely Bochaton finished second, thanks to her six-under-par 210. The Bulldogs had four players in the top 15.

In their first fall tournament, the Bulldogs won the NCAA Division II South Regional Preview by 15 strokes September 15-16. Bochaton won her seventh career individual title by one stroke over junior teammate
Jacqueline Gonzalez Howard. Both Bochaton and Gonzalez Howard shot third-round scores of one-under-par 71s to finish 54 holes at one-under-par 215 and even-par 216, respectively.

There are four top 25 teams from the September 26 Mizuno/WGCA Division II top 25 coaches' poll playing in the St. Simons Intercollegiate. Wingate and Flagler are No. 2 and No. 4, respectively, while Lander checks in at No. 19. Eckerd rounds out the quartet at No. 24. Three schools in the SSI field are receiving votes: West Florida, Carson-Newman and host Lincoln Memorial.
