Wilson, N.C.----The Wingate University Bulldogs capped a perfect opening weekend by taking down Mount Olive 99-90 in NCAA Division II men's basketball action Saturday afternoon. The Bulldogs move to 2-0 overall, while UMO falls to 1-1.

FIRST HALF
- Seven points from Vick and a Pack triple helped Wingate jump out to a 12-0 lead less than three minutes in
- Christian Ananaba's layup at the 15:47 mark cut the lead to five
- Two layups and two free throws from Godley pushed the lead to 13 at 22-9 with 12 minutes left
- A Raul Perez layup at the 8:15 mark cut the lead to 10
- Bradley answered with a triple to put the 'Dogs on top 28-15
- A Pack three with 4:33 remaining stretched the lead to 14
- A Miller triple and Vick free throw gave Wingate a 39-23 lead with 2:53 to go
- Two Redford Denton free throws with 31 seconds left cut the halftime lead to 12 at 46-34
SECOND HALF
- A Jefferson McLamb putback pulled Mount Olive within eight just over a minute into the half
- Vick's layup pushed the lead back to double figures at 49-38
- A three and a layup from Pack gave the Bulldogs a 55-42 lead with 15:25 left
- Two more threes from Pack stretched the lead to 18 at 64-46
- Pack buried another triple at the 12:14 mark to put the 'Dogs on top by 21
- Millers' layup gave WU a 69-46 advantage
- A Kahlif Barnes bucket with 9:40 to go trimmed the lead to 15
- Wingate scored the next eight, getting a pair of Lingo triples to go on top 81-58 with eight minutes left
- A Pack triple and Vick layup gave the 'Dogs a 21-point cushion with 4:47 remaining
- A Barnes triple with 40 seconds left cut the lead to seven at 94-87
- Vick made a free throw, but a Shane Peterson three made it a five-point game with 20 seconds left
- Two Bradley free throws, followed by a Campbell dunk put the finishing touches on the win
