Charlotte, N.C.----The Wingate University men's 800 Freestyle Relay quartet set a new school standard at the Kellianne Nagy Fall Frenzy Invitational Thursday night. The Bulldogs won the event with a time of 6:23.56, erasing the previous school-record mark of 6:24.13.
 
The 800 Free Relay was the only event contested Thursday evening. The NCAA Division II No. 5 Wingate men lead host Queens by four points (112-108). On the women's side, Queens leads Nova Southeastern by two points (104-102). NCAA Division II No. 9 Wingate is fourth with 84 points.
 
Men's 800 Freestyle Relay notes
 
- Sophomores Yassine Sebbata and Tymofii Chemeryk swam the first and third legs
- MBA graduate student and team captain Joel Thompson swam the second leg
- Junior Anton Witzell finished things up for the victorious Bulldogs
- Host Queens finished second in the event with a time of 6:24.88
 
Women's 800 Freestyle Relay notes
 
- Wingate posted a time of 7:25.04 to take fourth in the crowded field
- Senior team captain Nina Azirovic swam the first 200 yards
- She was followed by freshman Nina Gul Serdar
- Sophomore Elizabete Paula Ozola and senior Giulianna Garcia finished
- Host Queens won the 800 Freestyle Relay with a time of 7:11.32
