Bulldogs take down Hawaii at Hilo and Saginaw Valley State at Big Island Classic

Hilo, Hawaii----The Wingate University Bulldogs picked up a pair of wins in less than 24 hours Tuesday and Wednesday at the Big Island Classic in Hawaii. The 'Dogs defeated Hawaii at Hilo 64-56 Tuesday night, while rolling to a 74-55 victory over Saginaw Valley State Friday to move to 4-1 on the season.

- Wingate shot 43 percent from the field, going one-for-five from three-point range (20 percent)
- Hawaii Hilo shot 41 percent from the field, connecting on two-of-20 from deep (10 percent)
- The Bulldogs held a 36-29 rebounding advantage; Hilo had a 10-6 edge in second-chance points
- The Vulcans had a 40-34 edge in points in the paint
- The 'Dogs scored 17 points off 13 Hilo turnovers
