No. 5 Bulldogs win SAC indoor crown; Wingate’s Jackie Kirby is the league’s COTY

Winston-Salem, N.C.----The NCAA No. 5 Wingate University men's indoor track and field team won its third straight South Atlantic Conference indoor championship meet at the JDL Fast Track Sunday. The Bulldogs posted 191 points, compared to 100 markers for second-place Lenoir-Rhyne. Second-year Wingate head coach Jackie Kirby was voted the SAC men's indoor track Coach of the Year by her peers.

- Luca Poppe won the mile run with his time of 4:06.63
- Wingate had the top six finishers in the mile run
- Aleix Lago won the 800 meters with his meet record time of 1:52.74
- Lago won the SAC indoor 800 meters for the second year in a row
- Lars Laros won the 3000 meters with his meet record time of 8:03.31
- Titouan Le Grix won the 5000 meters Saturday with his time of 14:23.59

- Mia Cabrera won two events Sunday, the mile run and the 3000 meters
- She won the mile run with her time of 4:45.20
- Cabrera's mile time is a new meet record and new WU school standard
- She also won the 3000 meters with a time of 10:09.50
- Ennessey Sorrells won the triple jump with her mark of 11.87 meters
- Assiya Elhafyan won the high jump with her leap of 1.68 meters
- Amber Lawless won the shot put with her mark of 13.04 meters
- Grace Burrell won the 5000 meters Saturday with her time of 17:29.70

- 800 meters: Evie Brooks, second (2:13.39, SR)
- 800 meters: Baia Touza, third (2:18.14)

- 3000 meters, Grace Burrell, third (10:15.41)
- High jump: Margaux Shelton, third (1.60 meters)
