Newberry, S.C.----The Wingate University Bulldogs picked up a dominant road victory Saturday afternoon, rolling to a 228.25-92.5 win at Newberry College in NCATA Acro & Tumbling action. The Bulldogs improve to 3-1 on the season, while the Wolves fall to 0-4 overall.
Wingate jumped out to a big lead in the Compulsory section, putting up 30.80 points compared to Newberry's 14.05. The 'Dogs posted 9.25 in the Toss heat and 9.05 points in the Pyramid heat. The Bulldogs piled up 25.25 points in the Acro section, highlighted by a 9.05 in heat three, along with an 8.90 in heat one. Wingate put up 27.45 out of a possible 29.60 in the Pyramid section, with a 9.75 in heat three along with a 9.05 in heat one.
The Bulldogs went for 23.595 points in the Toss section, with an 8.50 in heat one and an 8.295 in heat three. Wingate piled up 45.975 points in the Tumbling section, posting a 9.20 in the 6-Element pass and a 9.300 in the Open pass. The 'Dogs wrapped up the meet with a 75.18 in the team event.
The Bulldogs are back in action Tuesday, traveling to King to face the Tornado and Lander at 6 p.m.
