Wingate, N.C.----The Wingate University Bulldogs won the home opener for the second straight year, prevailing 238.805-209.320 in NCATA Acrobatics & Tumbling action Friday night in Cuddy Arena. Wingate moves to 2-1 on the season, while the Patriots fall to 0-2.

Wingate took a five-point lead in the Compulsory section, highlighted by a 9.65 in the Pyramid heat and a 9.20 in the Toss heat. The 'Dogs put up 26.45 in the Acro section, with a 9.25 in heat one and 9.00 in heat three. The Bulldogs put up 27.50 out of a possible 29.30 in the Pyramid section, posting 9.25 in heat one and a 9.60 in heat three.

The Bulldogs accumulated a score of 24.90 in the Toss section, led by an 8.75 in heat three. Wingate piled up 47.175 points in the Tumbling section, which was capped by a 9.175 in the Open Pass. Wingate also notched an 8.925 in the 6-Element Pass and an 8.875 in the Aerial Pass. The Bulldogs wrapped up the victory with a 77.68 in the Team event.
