Bulldogs place four on All-SAC teams

Rock Hill, S.C.----The Wingate University Bulldogs had four players earn all-conference honors Tuesday afternoon, when the South Atlantic Conference announced the women's tennis award winners. Chloe Kosmrlj is a first team All-SAC singles honoree, with Fernanda Castillo and Suzuka Sambyakugari picking up second team accolades. In addition, Kosmrlj and Daniela Kotara earn first team All-SAC doubles honors. The group has helped the #19 Bulldogs go 15-4 on the season, with an 11-1 mark in league play.

Kosmrlj has played at number one singles all season for the Bulldogs, compiling a 12-3 record. The senior is 7-1 against league opponents this year.

Casillo has played at number two singles for the Bulldogs this season, posting a 9-4 overall record in singles play. The junior is 5-2 against league opponents.

Sambyakugari leads the Bulldogs with 14 victories this season, going 14-2 on the year with a 9-1 record in league play. She is 13-2 at number three singles, adding a win at number two singles.

The duo of Kosmrlj and Kotara has compiled an 11-3 record this season, while going a perfect 7-0 against SAC opponents. Kosmrlj and Kotara are 9-3 at #1 doubles, adding a pair of victories at two doubles.

Wingate is back in action Wednesday, taking on Anderson in the opening round of the SAC Tournament at 9 a.m. in Sumter, S.C. The Bulldogs have won two of the last four SAC Tournament titles.
