Spence named Region co-Offensive Player of the year; six Bulldogs earn All-Region honors

Louisville, Ky.----Wingate University junior attack Kyle Spence has been named the South Region co-Offensive Player of the Year by the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA). Spence is joined on the first team All-Region by senior Peyton Farley, while Joey Moran is a second team selection and Sean Clark earns third team accolades. In addition, CJ Dorr and Jaxon Grant are honorable mention All-Region honorees.

Spence had a huge junior season for the SAC champion Bulldogs, piling up 39 goals and 79 assists while adding 38 ground balls and 10 caused turnovers, earning All-Region honors for the second straight year. The SAC Offensive Player of the Year broke Wingate's single-season record for assists and points, while leading the nation in both categories. Spence has registered multiple points in every game this season, with three or more points in 15 of 16 games. He had a goal and six assists against Lees-McRae, while piling up two goals and eight assists against Mars Hill. He went for four goals and six assists against Tusculum, while registering four goals and two assists against Newberry. Spence followed a three-goal, four-assist effort at Catawba with four goals and five assists against Anderson. He collected two goals and five assists against Coker in the regular season finale, while also posting two goals and five assists at #2 Limestone in the SAC semifinals. He handed out seven assists in the championship game, earning tournament MVP honors. Spence piled up two goals and eight assists in the NCAA Tournament win at LR, then notched three goals and an assist at #1 Tampa in the national quarterfinals.

Farley earns All-Region accolades for the third straight season. The senior piled up 30 caused turnovers and 42 ground balls on the year, adding a goal and an assist. Farley was once again the defensive anchor, helping the 'Dogs rank second in the SAC in caused turnovers and third in scoring defense. He posted multiple caused turnovers 11 times on the season, notching three CTs and three ground balls against Lees-McRae, while collecting three CTs and six ground balls against Newberry. Farley also had three caused turnovers at Catawba. He went for two CTs and four ground balls in the SAC Tourney win at Limestone, while registering three CTs in the SAC title game. Wingate's all-time leader in caused turnovers became the first player in program history to go over 100 career CTs this season.

Moran is an All-Region honoree for the first time in his career. The junior poured in 51 goals from the midfield position, handing out 11 assists while adding 19 ground balls and six CTs. Moran ranked second on the team in goals and fourth in points, helping the 'Dogs rank in the top five nationally in scoring offense, points per game and assists per game. Moran had at least one point in every game this season, compiling three or more points 11 times. He scored six goals against Lees-McRae, while piling up six goals and two assists against Florida Tech. Moran had five goals and an assist against Tusculum, while registering two goals and an assist in back-to-back wins over Catawba and Lander. Moran scored four goals in the SAC tourney semifinal win at Limestone, while netting three goals in the title game. He also had three goals and an assist in the NCAA Tourney win at LR.

Clark is an All-Region selection for the second straight year, after picking up honorable mention accolades during his freshman season in 2024. The third team All-SAC honoree piled up 57 goals and 23 assists on the year, adding 24 ground balls and 11 CTs. Clark led the 'Dogs in goals, while ranking second in assists and points. The sophomore ranked seventh in the nation in goals and 11th in points, while ranking second in the conference in points, trailing only his teammate Spence. Clark notched multiple points 17 times this year, registering two goals and three assists in the season opener against Florida Tech. He piled up four goals and four assists against Mars Hill, while notching two goals and three assists against Newberry. Clark poured in five goals against LMU, while going for seven goals and three assists against Coker. He had four goals and an assist against Newberry in the SAC tournament quarterfinals, including the game winner in the second overtime. Clark scored five goals in the SAC championship game, while pouring in six goals in the NCAA Tourney victory at LR.

Dorr picks up All-Region recognition for the first time in his career, after earning third team all-conference accolades. The senior appeared in all 20 games for the SAC champs, making 19 starts while playing a key role in one of the league's top defenses. Dorr piled up 47 ground balls on the season, ranking third on the team, while also adding 10 caused turnovers. Dorr had multiple ground balls in 11 games, piling up six at Florida Southern and five against Tusculum. He had six games with four ground balls this year.

Grant is an honorable mention All-Region honoree for the second straight season. The third team All-SAC selection scored 24 goals on the year, adding five assists to go along with 18 ground balls. Grant and Dorr both played big roles in helping Wingate rank ninth in the nation in clearing percentage. He scored a pair of goals at Florida Southern, while piling up three goals and three assists against Tusculum. Grant scored two goals against Emory & Henry and Limestone, while scoring three goals against Coker. He scored a pair of goals in the SAC semifinal win at Limestone, while also scoring twice in the National quarterfinal contest at #1 Tampa.
