Bulldogs earn USILA Team Academic Award; Arnold and Dorr named Scholar All-Americans

Louisville, Ky.----The South Atlantic Conference tournament champion Wingate University Bulldogs have earned the Team Academic Award from The United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA). In addition, Nick Arnold and CJ Dorr have earned USILA Scholar All-American accolades.

To earn the USILA Team Academic Award, a team must post a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0 for the 2024-25 academic year. The SAC champion Bulldogs compiled a 3.019 team GPA for the year. This is the first time the 'Dogs have earned USILA Team Academic honors.

To be eligible to be a USILA Scholar All-American, the student-athlete must be a student with a senior year academic standing and a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 (4.0 scale). He will have behaved in a manner that has brought credit to himself, his institution, and to college lacrosse both on and off the field. He must also be an All-American, a member of a North/South team, or an outstanding league or conference player. Each individual nominated for Scholar All-American was evaluated on a case by case basis by the Scholar AA committee.

Arnold was a three-time All-SAC defender for the Bulldogs. He helped Wingate rank among the nation's top defenses throughout his four-year career. Arnold piled up 104 ground balls in 66 games, while notching 58 caused turnovers. He also had three goals and an assist. Arnold graduated with a 3.367 GPA, majoring in Sports Management.

Dorr picked up All-SAC accolades during his final season with the Bulldogs, helping Wingate capture the SAC title and advance to the national quarterfinals. He appeared in all 20 games in 2025, making 19 starts while piling up 47 ground balls on the season, adding 10 caused turnovers. Dorr helped the 'Dogs rank in the top 25 nationally in scoring defense and caused turnovers. Dorr posted a 3.277 GPA at Wingate, majoring in Exercise Science.
