2025 Wingate University Cross Country Season Preview

Wingate, N.C.----The Wingate University cross country teams look to end the 2025 season with NCAA podium finishes. The Bulldog men finished second at the '24 NCAA Division II national championship meet, while the Wingate women claimed eighth place at the same NCAA event. The Bulldogs are the defending SAC and Southeast Region champions in both men's and women's cross country.
 
Head coach Pol Domenech and his WUXC squads start the 2025 season Friday, September 12, venturing to Charlotte for the Queen City Invitational. The women's 5K race starts at 6 p.m., while the men's 8K race begins at 6:45 p.m.
 
Both Wingate teams are picked to win the 2024 South Atlantic Conference championship meets in a vote of the league's coaches. The Bulldog men's cross country team is ranked No. 1 in the preseason NCAA Division II U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) coaches' poll. Wingate is ranked No. 5 in the women's preseason listing.
